The Batman: Part 2 Villains May Have Been Revealed in Movie’s Working Title

The potential title for the next Batman movie could hint at which characters will be the villains.

Okay, so I’m really excited for the next Batman movie! It’s officially called The Batman: Part 2, but you’ll probably hear it called The Batman 2 more often. It’s set to come out next year, and thankfully Matt Reeves is back directing. Best of all, Robert Pattinson is returning as Batman – I thought he absolutely nailed the role in the first one, so I can’t wait to see what he does with it this time around.

What is the working title for The Batman: Part 2?

We know a little about who’s in The Batman: Part 2, but details about the story are still scarce. This has sparked a lot of guessing about who the main villain will be, as Warner Bros. is keeping those details secret.

A possible title for the next Batman movie has been revealed, and fans are speculating about which villains will appear in it.

A recent listing reveals that the working title for The Batman 2 is “Semper Vigilans,” a Latin phrase meaning “always vigilant” or “ever watching.” This could simply describe Batman’s watchful nature, but some fans believe it hints at the involvement of the Court of Owls in the sequel.

The Court of Owls, a secret criminal society, debuted in Batman #6 in 2012. Created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, the Court is composed of Gotham’s richest and most powerful people, known for using murder to achieve their political goals. They carry out these killings with skilled operatives called Talons.

The rhyme featured in the comics has led many to believe “Semper Vigilans” is connected to the Court of Owls. The rhyme itself warns: “Beware The Court of Owls, that watches all the time, ruling Gotham from a hidden place, built of stone and mortar. They watch you at home, they watch you as you sleep, so don’t say a word about them, or they’ll send the Talon after you.”

It’s still uncertain if the Court of Owls will appear in the next Batman movie, which is scheduled for release on October 1, 2027.
