The Batman 2 could bring back an iconic character from The Penguin.
The second installment of The Batman, produced jointly by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures, has been scheduled for release in 2027. This sequel to the 2022 movie follows the superhero saga directed by Matt Reeves. In this continuation, Robert Pattinson is set to reclaim his character as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Who is rumored to appear in The Batman 2?
In a recent episode of The Hot Mic, industry expert Jeff Sneider subtly suggested that Cristin Milioti could reprise her role as Sofia Falcone in the upcoming sequel to The Batman, which is often referred to as The Batman: Part II.
Sneider merely hinted at the possibility of Milioti rejoining, without actually confirming that there have been concrete discussions about it. Therefore, this is still just speculation and not an official confirmation. At present, no specific plot details for The Batman Part II have been verified by James Gunn or any other people associated with the DC Studios project.
Instead, Gunn mentioned around six days ago that “a group of six individuals have gone through the script” for The Batman 2, but there is currently no information available about the project.
In simpler terms, Milioti has shown a desire to return as Sofia Falcone in either The Batman 2 or a possible second season of The Penguin. During an interview on Entertainment Weekly’s The Awardist podcast, she mentioned, “It definitely feels incomplete to me. Oh my goodness! I would absolutely enjoy revisiting the character, given where we left her off. So for me, it doesn’t feel finalized, but who knows? We’ll have to wait and see.
Apart from sharing her sentiments with Deadline, she expressed her enthusiasm for potentially joining The Batman 2 and acting alongside Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman character. Regarding Robert Pattinson, she commented that he is an exceptional actor, and the prospect of working together appeals to her greatly.
In simpler terms, the sequel to The Batman is scheduled for release on October 1, 2027. On the other hand, both The Batman and The Penguin can be streamed right now on HBO Max.
