Last Rites” marks the fourth and concluding film within the primary series of “The Conjuring”. This movie follows Ed and Lorraine Warren as they once again put their lives on the line, aiding a family in an exhausting struggle against a vengeful demon tied to their earliest case.

The forthcoming sequel will undeniably focus on Ed and Lorraine’s last investigation, hinting at reasons for their departure from the supernatural realm as suggested by the trailer.

The movie, “Last Rites,” is inspired by a true story involving supernatural phenomena that occurred at the Smurl family’s home in Pennsylvania. Although Valak was vanquished in “The Conjuring 2,” “Last Rites” also introduces the return of another beloved character from the franchise: Annabelle.

As a die-hard fan of horror cinema, I’m thrilled to announce my anticipation for “The Conjuring: Last Rites,” directed by the talented Michael Chaves. Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale

Mary, central to the unfolding events, faces intense public gaze due to her unusual divorce, a rarity in England during that time. Meanwhile, the Crawleys grapple with financial struggles that threaten their very existence.

In the upcoming film, many of the main characters from the series will return, including Paul Giamatti, Joanne Froggatt known for her role in MobLand, Jim Carter, Hugh Bonneville, Phyllis Logan, and Michelle Dockery. The grand finale of Downton Abbey, titled Downton Abbey: The Final Episode, is set to hit theaters on September 12, 2025.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues is a highly anticipated sequel to This Is Spinal Tap, as it’s set for release 41 years after the original film. Many of the original cast members will reprise their roles, including Rob Reiner, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, Fran Drescher, and Paul Shaffer. Notably, Paul McCartney and Elton John have also signed on for special appearances in the movie.

In the following story of the band named in the title, we find themselves reuniting once more. However, old conflicts remain unresolved, causing a few bumps along the way. As they gear up for what could be their final performance, there’s widespread curiosity about whether the members of Spinal Tap will put aside their differences and entertain their fans one last time.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues will premiere in theaters on Friday, September 12, 2025. 

Tron: Ares

In the year 2025, the film titled “Tron: Ares” serves as a standalone sequel to “Tron: Legacy.” In this story, the protagonist, also known as Ares, leaves the digital realm and steps into the real world. He’s assigned a perilous mission that takes him to Earth for the first time in history, marking an unprecedented human encounter with sentient Artificial Intelligence entities.

Tron: Ares is eagerly awaited as one of Disney’s upcoming sequels due to its intriguing plotline, which presents a unique twist by having artificial intelligence invade the human world instead of the reverse. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast led by Jared Leto and Jeff Bridges, alongside Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Gillian Anderson.

Directed by Joachim Rønning, Tron: Ares will premiere in theaters on October 10, 2025. 

Black Phone 2

The second installment, titled “Black Phone 2,” continues the narrative set in Scott Derrickson’s 2021 film, “Black Phone.” In this movie, a chilling serial killer character named The Grabber is depicted as he terrorizes a 13-year-old boy named Finney Shaw.

At the end of the movie “The Black Phone,” Finney, along with ghosts who were victims of Grabber in the past, managed to overcome Grabber. Since Grabber is set to return in the sequel, “The Black Phone 2,” it might delve into the supernatural realm as Grabber returns seeking revenge against Finney, this time appearing as a stronger supernatural entity.

In a continuation of the story, “The Black Phone 2” features the rising talent Mason Thames reprising his role as Finney, alongside Ethan Hawke portraying the villainous Grabber. The anticipated sequel is set to hit theaters on October 17, 2025.

Mortal Kombat II

During a private chat with TopMob, Josh Lawson indicated that the much-adored character, Kano, will make a comeback in Mortal Kombat II.

Under the guidance of director Simon McQuoid and scripted by Moon Knight showrunner Jeremy Slater, the film Mortal Kombat II is set to hit the big screen. This action-packed movie features Karl Urban, Mehcad Brooks, Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Chin Han, and Adeline Rudolph in key roles. The much-anticipated Mortal Kombat II will be added to October’s busy lineup when it debuts in theaters on October 24, 2025.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t

The third movie in the Now You See Me series, titled “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” is eagerly awaited by fans as it follows a significant gap since the last film (which came out in 2016).

In the upcoming third installment, we’ll see the beloved characters Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco reprise their roles as the main Four Horsemen. Joining this stellar cast are some fresh faces: Justice Smith, Ariana Greenblatt, Dominic Sessa, and Rosamund Pike.

Though specific storyline elements remain unclear, the trailer offers a sneak peek of upcoming events, revealing that the Four Horsemen enlist three skilled illusionists for a daring heist involving the world’s biggest diamond. The movie promises a grand heist filled with thrilling stunts to accomplish the seemingly impossible once more.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t ⁠⁠⁠will premiere in theaters on November 14, 2025.

Wicked: For Good

Following the triumph of Wicked in 2024, excitement is building for the continuation, titled Wicked: For Good. In this sequel, Elphaba and Glinda’s stories further unfold as they intertwine with the central plot of the timeless Wizard of Oz tale, where Dorothy (potentially portrayed by Abigail star Alisha Weir) could make an appearance.

In the sequel titled “Wicked: For Good”, we’ll see a resolution to the suspenseful climax of Part 1, which ended on a note of defiance and gravity, as it further explores the intense rivalry between Elphaba and the Wizard. Additionally, it will unveil pivotal characters from the “Wizard of Oz” tale, metamorphosing well-loved figures into the Tin Man, the Lion, and the Scarecrow.

Wicked: For Good premieres in theaters on November 21, 2025.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2

A year after the occurrences depicted in the initial movie, the narrative of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 unfolds, focusing on Mike, Vanessa, and Abby as they encounter another round of terrifying, mechanized entities with a penchant for lethal activities.

Following what appeared to be William Afton’s defeat in the initial film, the trailer suggested a reunion between Abby and her mechanical companions, setting the stage for the disclosure of the grim reality behind Freddy and his cohorts.

The movie “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” features actors such as Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, Elizabeth Lail, and Piper Rubio. Additionally, three new cast members – McKenna Grace, Teo Briones, and Wayne Knight – will be joining the team. The anticipated release date for “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” is set for December 5, 2025, in cinemas.

Zootopia 2

In my perspective as a movie enthusiast, I eagerly anticipate diving back into the world of Zootopia with the much-awaited sequel, “Zootopia 2”. This film promises to serve up a fresh dose of humor and heartwarming tales that will once again captivate audiences on the silver screen.

In the follow-up, newly graduated police officer Judy Hopps and cunning fox Nick Wilde team up once more to investigate a new conspiracy within Zootopia that appears linked to an enigmatic reptile.

By changing “sequel” to “follow-up”, “fledged” to “graduated”, “reunites” to “team up”, and using simple, easy-to-understand language throughout the sentence, it creates a more natural and engaging paraphrase.

In “Zootopia 2”, a total of 17 new animal species mingle with some familiar faces. The voices behind these characters include Ke Huy Quan, Quinta Brunson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Shakira, and Idris Elba. The sequel to the popular animated movie is set to hit theaters on November 26, 2025.

Wake Up Dead Man

Under the guidance of director Rian Johnson, the film titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” finds private investigator Benoit Blanc confronted with a challenging and perilous case that tests his skills to their maximum.

Despite the mystery surrounding the storyline and specifics of the case yet to be revealed, it’s clear that Daniel Craig’s peculiar detective will inevitably face challenging decisions as he unearths the facts.

Once more, Craig welcomes an exceptional ensemble of acclaimed performers, spearheaded by Mila Kunis, Cailee Spaeny, Glenn Close, Josh O’Connor, Josh Brolin, Jeremy Renner, and Kerry Washington. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Sequel will debut on Netflix on December 12, 2025.

Avatar: Fire and Ash

James Cameron’s highly anticipated sequel to Avatar, titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, is preparing for a theater release over the holidays. The film portrays an extensive civil war on Pandora, involving Jake Sully’s Metkayina tribe and a new clan of Fire Navis led by Oona Chaplin’s character, Varang.

In simpler terms, the preview showcased thrilling action sequences involving both human and Fire Navi characters, potentially creating complications for Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their companions.

The third installment of the Avatar series, titled “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” is one of five movies planned by Cameron, with the sequel set to heighten the tension as it approaches the climactic finale of the franchise. The movie is scheduled for release in theaters on December 19, 2025.
