Terrifier 4 Gets the Most Honest Release Update

As a huge fan, I’ve been getting chills from this franchise for nearly a decade now! After the amazing second and third films, I’m so excited to hear that they’re officially bringing it back with Terrified 4.

Lauren LaVera recently spoke about the status of Terrifier 4. With many rumors circulating about the film’s release, the actress shared an update and confirmed whether it will be shown in theaters this year.

The actress, while promoting her new horror movie Twisted, shared that the director, Damien Leone, is writing the next film. This one will finally show how the terrifying villain, Art the Clown, came to be.

Damien and I text each other all the time, so we’re always connected. He actually has the flu right now – and it’s his birthday, of all days! I was really disappointed because I wanted to suggest we both have a drink to celebrate, but he told me he’s feeling sick. So I know he’s still working on whatever he’s writing.

When asked about a possible release this year, LaVera said she had no idea where that information came from, clarifying that no official announcement has been made.

She hinted that a release this year is still possible, pointing out that filming for Terrifier 3 began in March 2024 and surprisingly came out in October. While she couldn’t give a definite answer, she said it’s a challenging goal, but not out of the question.

The independent horror series began in 2016, created by Damien Leone, who has written and directed every film so far, including the next one. The first movie was a surprising success, earning over $420,000 despite being made with a budget of only $35,000 to $55,000, and the franchise has grown in popularity with each new release.

The horror film Terrifier 2, released in 2022, was made for just $250,000 but earned an impressive $15.8 million at the box office. Its sequel, released in 2024, had a larger budget of $2 million and went on to earn a remarkable $90.3 million.

Terrifier 4 Will Wrap the Franchise

Honestly, the third movie was exactly what I hoped for – completely wild and over-the-top with the kills! I heard stories about the premiere – apparently, people were walking out almost immediately, and one person actually got sick! And even after that, the filmmakers added more violent scenes before the final release. It was intense, to say the least.

Horror movies are currently doing very well, and one series in particular has become a holiday tradition for fans. The third film, released in 2024, featured the return of the terrifying Art the Clown, continuing his violent spree five years after the last movie.

With the popularity of spinoffs and prequels across many franchises, the director of Terrifier 4 promises to deliver what fans are hoping for. In May 2025, he stated the film will be “epic” and won’t disappoint, revealing that Art the Clown’s origin story will be shown in the first fifteen minutes. While each Terrifier movie has outperformed the last, the director intends for Terrifier 4 to be the final installment, believing it’s best to end the series while it’s still strong.
