Teaser for New ‘Kill Bill’ Short Released

To mark the upcoming theatrical release of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (a combination of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2), the director has teamed up with Fortnite to create a new short film called The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge. The short will debut within the Fortnite game world on November 30th. A first look at the short is available online now. Uma Thurman reprises her role as “The Bride,” providing both the voice and motion capture performance for the character. The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge will premiere in Fortnite on November 30th at 2 p.m. Eastern Time.

Fans familiar with early drafts of Kill Bill won’t be shocked by this short film, as the story was originally part of the script. It picks up right after the Bride defeats O-Ren Ishii and the Crazy 88. In this version of events, Gogo Yubari’s sister, Yuki, follows the Bride to America seeking revenge. If you don’t play Fortnite, you can also watch the short in theaters with the release of The Whole Bloody Affair on December 5th.

What Is ‘The Whole Bloody Affair’?

For years, Quentin Tarantino has stated he’ll retire after directing ten films, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was his tenth. However, he views Kill Bill as a single movie that was split into two volumes for release.

The finished film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006, and work to refine it continued in 2008. Since 2011, the complete version has been shown at several events, including numerous screenings at the New Beverly Theater in Los Angeles, owned by Quentin Tarantino.

Tarantino shared in a statement about the release:

I envisioned and created Kill Bill as a single, complete film, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with fans that way. To truly experience Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, seeing it in a theater – especially in 70mm or 35mm – is the ideal way to go. It’s meant to be seen on the big screen, with all its action and intensity!

Because fans love the Kill Bill movies, many have wondered if a third film might happen. This speculation increased when Uma Thurman’s daughter, Maya Hawke, became an actress, leading some to imagine her playing Beatrix Kiddo’s daughter. However, Quentin Tarantino has said a third movie isn’t necessary, since the character Bill is already dead.
