Taylor Swift is known for keeping fans guessing, and it seems like she has another surprise in the works. With her new album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, coming out, rumors suggest she’s also planning something for movie theaters. What that something is remains a mystery, and I’m eager to find out more.
Taylor Swift Is Apparently Releasing A Project In Movie Theaters The Same Week The Life Of A Showgirl Comes Out
Taylor Swift was last in movie theaters in 2023 with her concert film, *The Eras Tour*, which you can now watch on Disney+. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she’s expected to be back on the big screen in 2025 with a new movie project.
Sources say the pop star is planning a return to acting. Details about the project are still unknown, but it’s expected to tie in with her upcoming twelfth album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, and will likely be released the same weekend. Fans can expect to see it in theaters around October 3rd.
Besides the mystery of what the show will actually be about, it’s also unknown whether she’ll work with AMC again – they haven’t confirmed anything. This means we’re still in the dark about where it will air.
Taylor Swift’s movies are almost guaranteed to do well, given her popularity and how much money ‘The Eras Tour’ film made. I plan to see whatever she releases, but I’m curious to know what it will be!

You can watch the *Eras Tour* concert film on Disney+. Subscriptions start at $9.99 a month with ads, or $15.99 a month to remove ads. See the deal here.
Will This Be A Visual Album? Will It Be An Eras Tour Documentary? Could It Be Another Pro-Shot Of The Eras Tour?
I’m trying to figure out what this project is all about – it’s quite puzzling! I have three ideas, so let’s look at each one.
Given Taylor Swift’s passion for directing and her history of creating detailed music videos, I wouldn’t be surprised if her new album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, is released as a visual album. With only 12 songs planned, it seems like a perfect length for a full cinematic experience. Adding to the speculation, Taylor Swift’s team posted a behind-the-scenes video of her on set wearing an orange cardigan, which could be a hint about an upcoming music video.

Fans Pointed Out Taylor Swift Teased Her Orange Era Before It Happened, But Why Orange?
Many fans, including myself, are really hoping for a documentary about Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. On the *New Heights* podcast, Swift mentioned that a film called *The Life of a Showgirl* – which Travis Kelce described as featuring “12 amazing songs” – will show what happened behind the scenes during the tour. Throughout the tour, people noticed camera crews filming backstage, as reported by MuchMusic, and have been eager to see a look at everything that went into making the tour happen.
If she really did create a documentary, timing its release with *The Life of a Showgirl* would be a logical move.
While it seems unlikely, another concert film from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour isn’t impossible. Her recent shows in Vancouver were professionally recorded, as noted by @evermorealbum, creating footage distinct from the 2023 Los Angeles film. This means we might eventually see a version of the Vancouver concert in theaters or on streaming services.
I have no idea what Taylor Swift is planning, but it sounds like a major movie event, and I’ll definitely be seeing it when it comes out on October 3rd.
