Taylor Sheridan’s ‘The Madison’ Becomes His Biggest Series Launch Yet

Though not directly connected to Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan’s latest Western drama, The Madison, is quickly gaining a large and devoted audience.

Debuting on March 14th, The Madison features Michelle Pfeiffer as the head of the Clyburn family. After her husband, Preston (Kurt Russell), and his brother, Paul (Matthew Fox), tragically die in a plane crash, the family begins a process of healing, moving from the busy streets of New York City to the stunning landscapes of Montana. This series represents a departure for creator Taylor Sheridan, and early signs suggest this new approach is proving successful.

During its first ten days, The Madison quickly became a hit, racking up 8 million views worldwide on Paramount+. This made it the most popular debut season of any series created by Taylor Sheridan. According to data from Luminate, The Madison was also the most-watched original series premiere for the week of March 13th to 19th.

Viewership numbers reveal that The Madison has become Sheridan’s most successful freshman series launch with women aged 35 and up. This isn’t surprising, given the show stars Pfeiffer and centers on the experiences of three generations of women navigating grief, loss, and love.

However you analyze it, the success of The Madison is a significant achievement for Taylor Sheridan and his team. They took a risk by moving away from the Yellowstone universe with this new Western, which is arguably his most personal project yet. Parade described the series as “deeply emotional, poignant, and powerful,” and it features Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Amiah Miller, and Alaina Pollack in its cast.

Okay, great news for anyone who loved The Madison! We’re definitely getting a second season, which is awesome. They actually finished filming it in December 2025, so it’s just a waiting game now. Paramount hasn’t given us a release date yet, but I’m hoping we’ll see it sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. Fingers crossed!

Matthew Fox won’t be back for Season 2 of The Madison. He announced this week that he’s finished playing Paul Clyburn, explaining he prefers taking on smaller, interesting roles rather than committing to a long-term series like he did with Lost.

As a huge fan of The Madison, I’m thrilled to hear that most of the original cast is set to return for Season 2! That includes Russell, who they’re planning to bring back through flashbacks, which I think is a brilliant idea. Right now, they haven’t announced any new actors joining the show, but I’m definitely anticipating some fresh faces to add to the drama when the season finally arrives. I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!

As we await more news, viewers can catch all six episodes of The Madison streaming now on Paramount+.
