Sylvester Stallone, who originally starred as Rambo, is rejoining the film series for a new prequel movie, John Rambo. However, this time he won’t be acting; instead, he’s signed on as an executive producer. The film is a joint project from Lionsgate, Millennium Media, and AGBO.
Sylvester Stallone, a New York native and three-time Oscar nominee who currently serves as a special Hollywood ambassador for the U.S. President, originally portrayed John Rambo in the 1982 film First Blood. He’s appeared in four subsequent Rambo movies and even directed one in 2008, but this upcoming film marks the first time he’ll be an executive producer on a Rambo project.
Sylvester Stallone has written parts of all five earlier Rambo movies. The series as a whole has earned $819 million around the world in ticket sales.
Noah Centineo will play John Rambo in a new prequel film. The movie is being directed by Jalmari Helander, who also directed Sisu, and is currently being filmed in Thailand.
