Sydney Sweeney is leading the cast of a new live-action film adapted from the well-known Japanese science fiction series. Filming for the movie recently finished after a four-month shoot.
According to What’s on Netflix, filming for the Gundam movie is officially finished! Photos from the wrap party are now showing up on Instagram. The project, originally known as Teardrop, started shooting in April 2026 and was filmed at Village Roadshow Studios on Australia’s Gold Coast, along with locations in Brisbane and Toowoomba, Queensland.
What Is Gundam About?
Gundam tells the story of skilled pilots battling each other during a long war between Earth and its former space colonies. As loyalties change and a new danger emerges, these rivals find themselves racing across the galaxy in a conflict that will determine humanity’s future. The upcoming movie promises stunning battles, deep emotional moments, and an epic scope unlike anything seen before in the Gundam universe.
The cast of Gundam includes Noah Centineo, Jackson White, Shioli Kutsuna, Nonso Anozie, Michael Mando, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Oleksandr Rydynskyi, Ida Brooke, Gemma Chau-Tran, and Jason Isaacs, alongside Sweeney.
The new Gundam series is coming to Netflix and is a collaboration between Legendary Pictures and Bandai Namco Filmworks. We don’t know when it will be released yet.
