Sydney Sweeney Just Signed On To Remake A Movie That Helped Inspire Indiana Jones, And Does She Ever Sleep?

Sydney Sweeney is one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood right now. Since gaining fame with the HBO series Euphoria, her popularity has skyrocketed, leading to many prominent roles. She’s now adding another project to her busy schedule: a remake of a classic adventure film that actually influenced the Indiana Jones movies. It’s exciting news, but it makes you wonder how she ever finds time to relax!

Rose Byrne is joining Apple Original Films for a new version of the 1964 film, “That Man From Rio.” She’ll star in the movie and also work as an executive producer. Justin Lin, known for directing films like those in the “Fast & Furious” series and “Star Trek Beyond,” is directing the remake. The script was written by Chase Palmer, who also co-wrote the 2017 horror film “It” and has contributed to other projects.

That Man From Rio is a fun, fast-paced adventure about a soldier on leave who races to save his girlfriend after she’s been kidnapped. His rescue mission takes him to Rio de Janeiro. The movie was well-received by critics and even earned an Academy Award nomination for its clever script in 1965.

Industry experts have pointed out that Philippe de Broca’s adventure film heavily influenced the Indiana Jones movies, especially the way the main character is portrayed. Some specific similarities can be seen in The Last Crusade. As a fan of Indiana Jones, I’m fascinated to learn about this connection and surprised I hadn’t heard about it before.

I’m interested to see how Sydney Sweeney, Justin Lin, and the rest of the team approach this remake. My only thought is that the main actress – we don’t yet know what part she’ll play – could probably use a break first.

More to come…
