The search for the DC Universe’s Brainiac is over.
Who is playing Brainiac in the DCU?
Contrary to earlier speculation, James Gunn hasn’t worked with the actor playing Brainiac in the new DCU, and he wasn’t on the initial list of considered actors. The role will be played by German actor Lars Eidinger, who is best known for his work in miniseries like ‘All the Light We Cannot See’ and films by Noah Baumbach, including ‘Jay Kelly’ and ‘White Noise’. Eidinger has also appeared in the films ‘Dying’ (2024), ‘About Joan’ (2022), and ‘My Little Sister’ (2020), making this his most significant role to date.
Not much is known about the next Superman movie, “Man of Tomorrow,” except that it’s scheduled to come out on July 9, 2027, and will again star David Corenswet as Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
Superman is often called “The Man of Tomorrow,” and that name has actually been used in the titles of some DC comic book series. A 2020 animated Superman movie also used the title “Man of Tomorrow.” It’s currently unknown if the upcoming DC Universe movie will draw inspiration from these earlier works.
I’m so excited – you can now rent or buy Superman digitally! I just saw it’s available on platforms like Apple TV and Fandango at Home, which is fantastic news for any fan like me who wants to watch it whenever!
