Edi Gathegi confirms Mister Terrific won’t join Guy Gardner in Lanterns
In conversation with Variety, actor Edi Gathegi discussed his character, Mister Terrific, and expressed his potential involvement in the upcoming Lanterns TV series.
Mister Terrific is a member of the Superman-led Justice League team, alongside Nathan Fillion’s character Guy Gardner and Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl. Unlike Nathan Fillion’s character, who will be featured in an upcoming DC series, Mister Terrific has confirmed that he will not be appearing.
Despite his statements, Gathegi hinted at his future involvement in several DCU productions. “I’ve signed on for multiple projects,” he explained, “but the details of that arrangement remain unclear to me.” What Gathegi emphasizes is that they will not rush into production without polished scripts, so until the drafts are ready and suitable for filming, any plans for his characters are inconsequential. He expresses a strong desire to play a significant role in this cinematic universe.
In 2026, the television series titled “Lanterns,” inspired by the Green Lantern Corps, is slated to debut. Starring Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, and Fillion as Gardner, it also boasts a host of other talented actors.
Lately, Fillion discussed the series during a chat with Entertainment Weekly. He mentioned, “On that program…wow, Guy Gardner. I’ve used more four-letter words in that production than probably all throughout my career combined.
