Sung Jinwoo Can Easily One-Shot Goku, These Solo Leveling Feats Prove It

Goku has long been the standard for measuring power in anime, but his reign as the strongest is over. Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling is now clearly more powerful than Goku, and the difference isn’t even close. By the end of the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok light novel, Sung Jinwoo could defeat Goku easily, without even trying hard.

It used to be debatable whether Jinwoo was more powerful than Ultra Instinct Goku, especially before the end of the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok light novel. But that’s no longer the case. Jinwoo has accomplished some incredibly impressive things throughout Solo Leveling-and even more so in the sequel-which definitively demonstrate he is stronger.

Jinwoo Fights The Outer Gods For 5 Years Straight Without Stopping

I’ve watched a lot of anime heroes, and Goku is definitely one of the most dedicated when it comes to training. He’s spent his whole life mastering martial arts, which gives him incredible stamina and endurance. However, even with all that effort, I’ve come to realize his endurance doesn’t quite reach the level of Sung Jinwoo’s. Jinwoo has been in conflicts that stretched on for *years* – remember his 27-year war against the Monarchs at the end of the first series? It’s not completely certain if that battle was *continuous* though. He probably took breaks between fights over such a long period, but it’s still an amazing feat of endurance, even if it wasn’t non-stop.

However, Sung Jinwoo’s recent accomplishment – battling the Outer Gods for five straight years – is much more definitive. Jinwoo couldn’t stop or rest at all during those five years while fighting the Itarim, beings capable of destroying universes. He was in continuous combat the entire time, demonstrating his stamina is genuinely godlike.

I’ve noticed that Goku’s endurance actually seems worse than Jinwoo’s. While incredibly powerful, Goku can only hold his strongest form, Ultra Instinct, for limited times, and it really takes a toll on his body. Throughout Dragon Ball Super, especially up to the end of the Super Hero Saga, his main objective has been to achieve a state where he can use Ultra Instinct constantly, like the Angels, but he hasn’t quite gotten there yet.

Jinwoo Cuts Through Dimensions and Opens Portals With Ease

Overcoming the boundaries between dimensions is a remarkably powerful ability, typically reserved for only the strongest characters in anime. Sung Jinwoo achieved this feat even before the conclusion of the original Solo Leveling series. He initially showcased his power to quickly reach and close dimensional Gates leading up to the final confrontation with the Monarchs, as a way to warn all the world’s Hunters about the coming danger they posed.

In Dragon Ball, traveling between dimensions isn’t a new concept. Both Buu and Gotenks managed this in the final arc of DBZ, and Goku Black also did so using his powerful Sickle of Sorrow. However, unlike those fighters, who usually break through dimensions as an accidental result of their strength, Jinwoo completely controls the portals he creates whenever he wants. Jinwoo’s ability to open Gates and move between dimensions is more similar to Janemba’s than to Gotenks’. He doesn’t just tear through space and time; Sung Jinwoo has complete mastery over the fundamental rules of his Universe.

Sung Jinwoo’s Mere Presence Can Destroy The Earth in Solo Leveling

Sung Jinwoo is famous for being incredibly powerful, but many fans don’t realize just how true that statement is. His aura is so intense that – by the end of the original Solo Leveling story – simply being on Earth could destroy the planet. Jinwoo constantly has to hold back his strength, and even when he does, his presence can still cause unexpected problems in the world around him.

Jinwoo’s power is so immense that the Rulers advise him to leave his world to protect his loved ones. The Rulers originally created the Gates and brought mana to Earth to prevent humanity from being wiped out during their conflict with the Monarchs, and Jinwoo is stronger than any of them. While the Z Fighters in Dragon Ball are skilled in controlling their energy, or Ki, and can cause significant damage, even Piccolo’s extensive training and energy control don’t compare to Jinwoo’s power.

Sung Jinwoo Eviscerates Galaxies Effortlessly During His Fight Against the Itarim

As a long-time fan, I’ve seen Goku tackle some seriously powerful enemies throughout DBZ and Dragon Ball Super – threats that spanned entire galaxies! But honestly, I don’t think we’ve *ever* seen Goku destroy a galaxy with the kind of detail shown with Sung Jinwoo. In the story, he’s facing off against three Outer Gods *at the same time*! And get this – one of them actually tries to defeat him by literally throwing entire galaxies at him like projectiles! It’s an incredible display of power.

The light novel describes Sung Jinwoo as completely unaffected by the attack; the galaxy-sized projectiles don’t even come close to hitting him. They are instantly shattered in the air, as if they were tiny particles. Sung Jinwoo is so far beyond the ability to destroy galaxies that he doesn’t even need to exert himself, and a whole galaxy used as a weapon barely registers. This demonstrates just how immense the Shadow Monarch’s power has become by the series’ conclusion.

Sung Jinwoo Achieves Something Beyond Immortality

A lot of Sung Jinwoo’s most incredible displays of power in the Solo Leveling series occur during Ragnarok, largely because he’s become even more powerful after the initial story. However, Jinwoo also achieved some amazing things earlier on, demonstrating just how overwhelmingly strong his abilities always were, ever since he gained the complete powers of the Shadow Monarch. Being the true King of the Dead, Sung Jinwoo naturally has complete control over everything related to death, including his own mortality.

Following his death at the hands of the Frost and Beast Monarchs, Sung Jinwoo miraculously returns to life, similar to how a Shadow Soldier regenerates. The exact rules governing his revivals – how often he can do it, or under what circumstances – remain somewhat unclear. Like the Absolute Being, Sung Jinwoo can still revert to “nothingness,” but his command over the realm of the dead grants him unique advantages over death, surpassing typical immortality.

Sung Jinwoo Controls Billions of Shadow Soldiers at Once

Wow, the ending of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok really got me! It was such a powerful moment when Sung Jinwoo’s son, Suho, finally got to see his dad during the Outer Gods War. Jinwoo created a portal, which was amazing, to bring Suho to him instantly, even though they were in totally different universes! And then, in that space between dimensions, Suho came face to face with an unbelievable force – he said there were billions of them! It was just… epic. I can’t wait to see it animated!

It’s important to remember that some of those Shadow Soldiers demonstrated city-level power relatively early in Solo Leveling. The Ant King, for example, defeated several S-Rank hunters who each had the ability to destroy entire cities. This was before Beru grew much stronger towards the end of the story. Considering the powerful enemies Jinwoo’s army faced during the War of the Outer Gods, it’s quite possible that his strongest soldiers, like Bellion and Igris, could be considered planetary-level threats in Ragnarok.

This incredibly large number of exceptionally powerful soldiers isn’t just a display of Jinwoo’s immense strength; it also highlights the extraordinary scope of his mental abilities. Jinwoo began his journey in Solo Leveling as an ordinary person, but by the time Ragnarok begins, he’s become something akin to a god. He can experience the world through the senses of all his Shadows, granting him a perception that’s almost impossible to grasp – essentially having eyes and ears everywhere, across billions of locations simultaneously.

Jinwoo Defeats Gods Who Create and Destroy Universes in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok

Sung Jinwoo achieves many amazing things in the Solo Leveling series, demonstrating he could defeat a powerful character like Goku. However, the most important aspect of his strength is simply how much his power grows. The entire plot of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok revolves around Jinwoo battling opponents who casually create and destroy countless Universes just for fun. By the series’ conclusion, Jinwoo defeats three of these beings on his own, establishing that he’s at least multiversal in power.

The Outer Gods in Solo Leveling are incredibly powerful, terrifying beings, similar to the cosmic horrors described by H.P. Lovecraft. Just seeing them is enough to shatter a person’s sanity. These entities are almost impossible to comprehend, and they’ve turned their attention to Jinwoo’s universe because the balance of power changed after the deaths of the Absolute Being and the Monarchs. Goku has faced powerful, even universe-threatening beings before, but even gods like Beerus and Zeno would be forced to submit to the creatures Jinwoo battles in Ragnarok.
