Stranger Things’ New Holly Actress, Nell Fisher, Celebrates Her Debut With Must-See BTS Photos

Nell Fisher, the new actress playing Holly in Stranger Things, shared exciting behind-the-scenes photos to celebrate the release of Season 5. The fifth and final season of the popular Netflix sci-fi series is now available, and it’s packed with action as the terrifying Upside Down begins to impact the real world. While many familiar faces return, newcomer Nell Fisher is generating a lot of buzz.

Nell Fisher joins the popular Netflix show Stranger Things in its fifth season, taking over the role of Holly Wheeler. Holly, who has previously appeared as a baby or toddler, is now a young girl and will have a bigger part in the story. Because of the long break between seasons four and five, the role needed to be re-cast.

Maya Hawke marked the beginning of Stranger Things Season 5 with a heartfelt social media post reflecting on her experience with the show. The actress, who plays Holly, expressed her gratitude to creators Ross and Matt Duffer, writing, “Thanks to [Ross and Matt Duffer]…for having faith in me,” and shared how thankful she was to be a part of the show’s final eight episodes.

Working on ‘Stranger Things 5’ Volume 1 was an unforgettable experience. I’m incredibly grateful to Ross and Matt Duffer, Shawn Levy, Frank Darabont, the entire cast and crew, Carmen Cuba for believing in me, Amy Parris for the fantastic costumes, everyone at 21 Laps Entertainment and Netflix, and all the other talented people who brought this amazing show to life.

Fisher shared thirteen behind-the-scenes photos from the series, showcasing costume fittings, moments with her fellow actors, and snippets of the filming process.

A pair of these includes Fisher with her in-universe mom, Karen Wheeler (played by Cara Buono). 

Buono, who’s been with the show since the beginning, instantly seemed to connect with the new actress playing her on-screen daughter, appearing warm and supportive beside her.

These photos also include other cast members. Sadie Sink, known for playing Max in the popular show, is pictured with her new co-star in a fun Polaroid, with her arm around them.

Fisher is also pictured with Jamie Campbell Bower, who played the villain Vecna, while Fisher is dressed as Mr. Whatsit. The photo is particularly unsettling because it shows the outfit he wears when appearing to young Holly in a vision.

This post delivers exactly what fans want: concept art of a young Fisher! It includes two on-set sketches – one of Fisher as Holly in a yellow raincoat, and another of Jake Connelly as Derek Turnbow.

In another photo, Connelly is featured driving around the set with Fisher in a golf cart playfully nicknamed the ‘Hellfire Club Car’.

In this latest scene, Fisher is shown carefully arranging plates on the dining room table inside the Wheeler house, while crew members move around in the background.

Every good celebration post needs a dress twirl, and Fisher delivers with a spin, showing off her beautiful blue dress from the show – it really looks like something Cinderella would wear!

The final three photos were taken on the set of the popular sci-fi show. The first appears to be a candid shot taken during a break, showing a tiny frog sitting on one of Fisher’s colleague’s shoes.

The next picture sees Fisher conversing during a scene with Jamie Campbell Bower’s Mr. Whatsit. 

One of my favorite shots is a still taken directly from the camera monitor while they were filming. It shows Florence Pugh as Fisher dancing in the Creel House, and the sunlight streaming in behind her is just beautiful – it really captures the moment.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is now available on Netflix, with the first four episodes streaming now. The next set of episodes will be released on December 25th, and the two-hour series finale will air on December 31st.

What’s Next For Holly in Stranger Things 5?

Nell Fisher, playing Holly Wheeler, has become a central figure in the story of Stranger Things Season 5, and will likely be important throughout the rest of the series after her prominent role in the first four episodes.

The first part of Stranger Things 5 focused on Holly, played by Fisher, and set the stage for her role in the final four episodes. A major plot point involved Holly being kidnapped and trapped in a strange, dreamlike version of the Upside Down.

She’s now in a dreamlike world that feels like a perfect version of 1959, the year Henry Creel (who becomes Vecna) was a child. But she isn’t the only one there – Sadie Sink’s character, Max, is also hiding in this peaceful dream while she remains unconscious in the real world.

In the fourth episode, the two characters from Hawkins, Indiana, begin to work together to figure out how to escape from the strange place they’re trapped in.

It’s likely we’ll see this brighter version of the Upside Down again later in the series, and it seems Holly and Max will be central to what happens there.
