The Star Wars films are incredibly popular, enjoyed by fans for generations in theaters and now on Disney+. It’s been a while since a Star Wars movie was released – the last one, The Rise of Skywalker, came out some time ago. Recently, actor Adam Driver shared that he once suggested a movie focusing on his character, Kylo Ren, and fans have quickly rallied around the idea, hoping to see it made under the title The Hunt for Ben Solo.
Since Disney bought Lucasfilm, many Star Wars projects have been announced, but several have been canceled. Recently, actor Adam Driver shared that he worked on a pitch for a Ben Solo movie that would have been directed by Stephen Soderbergh, which has excited fans. They’re so eager to see this scrapped film that one fan even paid for a plane to fly over Disney headquarters asking them to reconsider! Now, a billboard in Times Square is adding to the pressure. You can see a picture of it below.
Wow, that’s serious dedication! It must have taken a lot to get this image displayed on the huge screens in Times Square. It really shows how passionate Star Wars fans still are, and how much they want to see a movie focused on Ben Solo, even though the studio wasn’t initially interested. Disney, please make it happen!

As a huge Star Wars fan, I’m always checking out Disney+. They’ve got everything with the franchise, including all of Adam Driver’s scenes as Kylo Ren. Right now, you can get a plan with ads for as little as $11.99 a month. If you want to skip the ads, it’s $18.99 a month, or you can save a bit of money and pay $189.99 upfront for the whole year – that’s about 16% off. I’m definitely considering the yearly option!
As a Star Wars fan, I was excited when Lucasfilm announced a new trilogy back in April 2023, kicking off with a film starring Daisy Ridley as Rey. We’re still waiting for any news on that, though. What’s currently in production is Shawn Levy’s Starfighter movie, which is great, but honestly, everyone seems fixated on the possibility of a Kylo Ren movie with Adam Driver. The buzz isn’t about whether it will happen, but that Disney apparently passed on the idea, even though Driver’s villain is incredibly popular with fans. It’s a bit baffling, to be honest.

The actor known for playing in Girls recently shared details about a canceled project called The Hunt for Ben Solo. He explained that while Lucasfilm was enthusiastic about the idea, Disney rejected it, reportedly because they didn’t want to explore bringing Kylo Ren back to life. Many fans find this reason questionable, especially since Palpatine was resurrected for The Rise of Skywalker. As a result, fans have already begun campaigns – including billboards and aerial banners – to try and revive the original title, and this is likely just the beginning.
It remains to be seen how long fans will continue to react and if their feedback will influence the studio. The next Star Wars film, Starfighter, is scheduled for release on May 28, 2027. Since no title has been announced for the 2026 movie yet, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to return to that galaxy far, far away.
