It’s common for actors to reject roles due to money, and this is especially true in Hollywood right now as the industry recovers from the recent strikes. Disney, for example, has been significantly reducing budgets for projects like those in the Marvel and Star Wars universes.
However, the media focused on the fact that she was a single mother, distracting from her actual concerns. She explained that Disney offered a lower salary, the job was located abroad, and she didn’t think the pay justified the upheaval. That’s a perfectly clear and understandable reason in itself.
The internet just… couldn’t get past the “single mom of two adults” bit.

- Swap in a different Nightsister
- Write Klothow out entirely
Considering Dave Filoni’s plans for expanding the Star Wars universe – and his new movie designed to connect the shows like ‘The Mandalorian’ – the Nightsisters are a crucial part of the story and likely won’t be forgotten. It’s still unclear if the characters will be brought back with new actors or if the storyline will be changed.
Lucasfilm, unsurprisingly, offered no comment on the situation.

Claudia Black is a well-known science fiction actress with a large and dedicated fanbase – she’s starred in shows like Farscape, Stargate SG-1, Uncharted, and The Nevers.
