As we approach the final season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds in 2027, Ethan Peck, who brilliantly portrays Lieutenant Spock, has voiced his enthusiasm about a potential Year One series. In a recent conversation, this 39-year-old actor hinted at the possibility of revisiting his Star Trek character for a future project, which would focus on Captain James T. Kirk’s early escapades.

During an interview with TV Insider, Peck expressed his enthusiasm for a potential Year One series, hinting that he’d be delighted to portray Spock as long as the opportunity presents itself.

He expressed that he finds it absolutely delightful, and intends to continue playing this role as long as he’s asked, since being part of this is an incredible opportunity for him. The message behind it is powerful, and the character has such a strong sense of integrity. He admires the noble nature of this character, so he enjoys bringing him to life,” the actor explained towards the end of his explanation.

In a nutshell, a Star Trek: Year One project could be designed to delve into the early adventures of Captain Kirk commanding the Enterprise, happening before the timeline of The Original Series, and set during his unusual new beginnings in the uncharted Star Trek universe.

Peck’s comments about the potential Year One series follow similar sentiments expressed by Paul Wesley, who portrays Captain Kirk in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. In a previous interview, he stated, “I haven’t got the final say, but I’ve made it clear, perhaps too many times, to the showrunners and others who ask, that I would absolutely love to be part of a Kirk series.” He also pointed out the timeline that the Year One series could cover, stating, “There’s potential to explore events happening between episodes or even before the first episode [of The Original Series].

Although Peck and Wesley have made optimistic comments about it, there hasn’t been any formal announcement from Paramount regarding the possible creation of a Star Trek: Year One series as of now.
