Star Trek Reveals First Look at Becky Lynch In Starfleet Academy

Rebecca Quin, a professional wrestler known as Becky Lynch in WWE, is joining the cast of a new Star Trek: Discovery spin-off. Paramount recently shared the first images of the former wrestling champion in her new role as a Starfleet officer.

The picture doesn’t tell us much about who she is as a person, but she looks human and seems to work in a technical field like operations, security, or engineering – we can guess that from her uniform. We’ll probably learn more about her soon.

Anjelika Quin has already stated that she will be playing a member of the bridge crew on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. She expressed her enthusiasm about becoming part of the Star Trek world.

After achieving the highest honor in her sport, she announced she’s taking her talents to a new universe. On social media, she excitedly revealed she’s joined the cast of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, playing a member of the bridge crew. She described the experience as incredible, praising the amazing cast and crew, and encouraged fans to watch when it premieres on Paramount Plus, ending with the iconic Star Trek phrase, ‘Live long and prosper.’

Quin shared a fond childhood memory of Star Trek in a recent interview. She explained that growing up in Ireland with only a few TV channels, Star Trek was constantly playing in the background. While she didn’t always sit down to watch, she especially enjoyed the movies and was a big fan of Colm Meaney, saying everyone would stop what they were doing to watch him whenever he appeared on screen.

Quin isn’t the only well-known personality—someone famous for more than just acting—joining the cast of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Stephen Colbert, the host of The Late Show, will also be involved. Plus, Paramount+ just revealed that Titans star Anna Torv will be joining the series as well.

The new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy follows a group of young cadets as they train to become Starfleet officers. They’ll experience the challenges of academy life – making friends, facing rivals, and falling in love – all while learning what it takes to serve in Starfleet. But their training is complicated by a dangerous new enemy that threatens not only the Academy, but the entire Federation.

I’m so excited about Star Trek: Starfleet Academy! The cast is amazing – Holly Hunter is playing the chancellor of the Academy, and we’ll see a bunch of new cadets brought to life by Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, and Bella Shepard. Plus, Zoë Steiner and Tig Notaro are joining the crew, and get this – Robert Picardo is back! There are also some great guest appearances planned with Oded Fehr and Mary Wiseman, and we’ll be seeing Gina Yashere and even Paul Giamatti popping up too. It’s going to be fantastic!

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy premieres on Paramount+ on Jan. 15.
