There’s a growing buzz that Spider-Man could be sporting the black symbiote suit in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie. Although Tom Holland hasn’t been officially confirmed for Secret Wars or a related Doomsday film, many believe he’ll be a central figure in both. Avengers: Secret Wars is currently planned for release in 2027, but there’s also talk that the movie might actually be released in two parts.
Spider-Man rumored to get a black symbiote suit in Avengers: Secret Wars
A source familiar with Hollywood happenings, known as My Time To Shine Hello (or MTTSH), recently shared potential costume details for Spider-Man in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie on X, formerly known as Twitter.
MTTSH posted a comic book cover showing Spider-Man wearing a black suit, suggesting it means he’ll get the symbiote and black suit in the upcoming ‘Avengers Secret Wars‘ storyline. However, this information hasn’t been officially confirmed and is currently just a rumor.
Also, the source didn’t say which Spider-Man they were talking about – whether it was Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, or Tobey Maguire.
MTTSH recently tweeted that Tom Holland will have a significant part in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie. However, neither the directors of Doomsday and Secret Wars, the Russo Brothers, nor Holland himself have confirmed this information.
In a September 2025 interview with LADbible, Tom Holland discussed his future playing Spider-Man, but he didn’t reveal much. He explained that he’s currently focused on making the upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, live up to the previous one. Holland also mentioned he’s been researching what fans want to see in a Spider-Man movie and using that feedback in his discussions about future projects, but he admitted he doesn’t know what the future holds for him as the character.
