With two of the next three Marvel movies being Avengers films, fans are understandably curious about what’s coming up. But before we get to those big events, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will arrive, and it might actually raise even more questions.
There’s a lot of speculation about the upcoming show, Brand New Day, including its plot and characters, but most details remain unconfirmed. We do know Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as the Punisher. However, it’s still uncertain whether Daredevil will make an appearance, or if we’ll see the character Gwen Stacy.
Marvel fans are always eager to find out how new movies tie into the larger cinematic universe, and a recent rumor hints at connections between the next Spider-Man film and two other stories within the franchise.
How Spider-Man Brand New Day May Connect To Previous Hulk Stories
The upcoming Spider-Man movie, tentatively titled Brand New Day, will begin a fresh storyline where Peter Parker isn’t affiliated with the Avengers and has a secret identity. However, other Marvel characters will still appear – Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, was recently seen on set, suggesting he’ll be in the film.
A new report from The Direct suggests Bruce Banner will be under significant pressure when he appears in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This is because of what happened in both She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Captain America: Brave New World – both stories introduced different versions of the Hulk, and Banner is terrified that could happen again.
The rumor doesn’t say if any other details from She-Hulk or Captain America will appear in the story. However, She-Hulk did reveal that Hulk has a son, which is a significant detail.
The New Rumor Fits With Other Spider-Man Reports
This is currently just a rumor, so it should be taken with caution, but it aligns with a popular theory about the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. Many believe Mister Negative will be the main villain, and his powers could potentially trigger a more aggressive and powerful Hulk. If Bruce Banner is already stressed, Mister Negative might find it even easier to push him over the edge.
As a big Spider-Man fan, I’ve noticed each of the last three movies has featured a major Marvel character helping Peter out – first Tony Stark, then Nick Fury, and most recently Doctor Strange. So, when I saw Mark Ruffalo showing up, it felt like he’d be more than just a quick appearance. It seems like he’ll have a real role to play! I’m really excited for Spider-Man: Brand New Day to come out next summer.
