Slow Horses Actor Zachary Hart Joins Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed Series

Okay, so I just heard some cool news for fellow gamers and TV fans! One of the actors from Slow Horses – you know, that awesome spy show on Apple TV+ – is going to be starring in the new Assassin’s Creed series coming to Netflix. It’s been a long time coming, but they’re finally making a live-action Assassin’s Creed show! Jason Altman, Daniele Kreinik, Roberto Patino, and David Wiener are producing, and Patino and Wiener will be running things as showrunners. I’m seriously excited to see how this turns out!

Toby Wallace from Eden (and who will also be in the next season of Euphoria) and Lola Petticrew from Tuesday have recently joined the cast, and another actor is now set to star with them.

Zachary Hart is the latest actor joining the cast of the live-action Assassin’s Creed series, according to @NetflixGeeked. Details about the character he’ll be playing haven’t been released yet.

Hart starred in Slow Horses season 4 as Robert Winters.

This season’s storyline centers on a bombing at a London shopping mall, carried out by the character Hart. When officers try to search the home of the person responsible, several are injured in a confrontation. We later learn the bomber’s true identity is Yves Harkness, and the attack was motivated by revenge against his father.

In addition to his role in Slow Horses, Hart has been in Masters of the Air, Bodies, Jericho Ridge, The Witcher: Blood Origin, and Peaky Blinders. He’s also a theater actor, notably starring in Stereophonic in London’s West End.

In addition to previously announced shows like Black Doves season 2, California Avenue, and Big Mood, Hart is also set to work on Assassin’s Creed. Filming for the series is planned to begin in Italy around 2026, and will star Wallace and Petticrew. The show will reportedly focus on characters not seen in the Assassin’s Creed video games.

The first Assassin’s Creed game was released by Ubisoft in 2007. Since then, there have been twelve main sequels and several additional games, including titles like Brotherhood, Revelations, Black Flag, Rogue, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, and the recently released Shadows (2025).

The video games center on a conflict between the Assassins and the Knights Templar. The Assassins try to stop the Templars from collecting powerful artifacts that can control people’s minds.

As a huge gamer, I’ve been following the numbers, and it’s incredible – Assassin’s Creed has flown off the shelves, selling over 200 million copies! It’s officially Ubisoft’s biggest success story when it comes to video games, which isn’t surprising given how popular the series is.

In 2016, a movie based on the popular video game Assassin’s Creed came out, starring Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, and other well-known actors. While it made over $240 million worldwide, the film was generally considered a disappointment. Both critics and audiences didn’t like it, and it currently has a low 18% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Although a movie sequel to Assassin’s Creed never materialized, Netflix is now creating a TV series based on the popular video game. With actors Callum Turner, Victoria Pedretti, and now Tom Hart cast in leading roles, Netflix is aiming to deliver a successful adaptation that will satisfy fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
