For the first two seasons, it’s built this incredibly immersive post-apocalyptic world, and honestly, it feels like we, the audience, are just as trapped as the characters inside. All we’ve really seen is this bleak, ruined world – something clearly catastrophic happened, but the details are so shrouded in mystery. And it’s not just about the environment; the entire human race, as far as we know, is limited to the people living inside Silo 18.

Besides a few like Solo, who live in the silo next door, not much is known about the other silos that exist in this world. The show emphasizes how scarce resources are, forcing the characters to focus on simply staying alive. Anything beyond basic survival – like old technology or historical artifacts – is either forbidden or has been lost forever.

The ending of Silo season 2 hinted that the world used to be full of life. Season 3 will be the first part of the series to fully show what the world was like before the disaster that created the silo.

Silo Season 3’s Genre Shift Is Exactly What The Show Needs After Season 2’s Criticism

Season 2 of Silo wasn’t bad, but it definitely felt slower than the first season. The story, especially for the character Juliette, didn’t really move forward for most of the season and only became truly engaging near the end.

After changing its focus in season 3, Silo appears to be regaining the fresh, fast-paced feel that made its first season so captivating, hinting at a return to the mystery and excitement fans loved.

As a huge sci-fi fan, I’m really excited about Silo. It’s interesting because the show is adapting a lot of material – two full books squeezed into just two seasons! That means, unlike season two, future seasons won’t have room for those slower, less essential scenes. It’s a tricky balance, though – rushing the story could be just as bad. But it seems like Silo is managing to cover all the important parts of the books at a good pace, which is a relief!

I’m really hoping the changes they’re making to the story will help Silo on Apple TV+ bounce back. Season 2 had some issues, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that season 3 will address them and be much better.
