Apple TV+ is making a name for itself with high-quality movies and shows, quickly becoming a major player alongside established content creators. The recent Oscar nominations for the film F1, co-distributed by Apple and Warner Bros., demonstrate this success. Apple has also built a strong lineup of multi-season shows, like the comedy-drama Shrinking, starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, which has already been renewed for a fourth season before its third season even premieres.
As a big fan of Shrinking, I was thrilled to see the news about season three! Apple TV+ announced that along with Harrison Ford and Jason Segel, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley will all be back. They also let us know the premiere date: January 28th! New episodes will drop every Wednesday, and the season will run until April 8th, 2026. I’m already counting down the days!
The third season of Shrinking will continue the story right after the dramatic events of the season 2 finale, where Kimmy (Segel) surprisingly saved the man responsible for his wife’s death in a drunk driving accident, portrayed by Brett Goldstein. The new season will also focus on Paul (Ford) as he deals with his recent Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis and begins seeking medical help. A special guest appearance by Michael J. Fox, a well-known actor who has lived with Parkinson’s and dedicated himself to raising awareness and funding research, will also be featured.
Is Apple TV the Most Efficient Streaming Service?

Apple TV+ has quickly renewed Shrinking for a fourth season, a great sign given the show’s success. The series, created by Jason Segel, Brett Goldstein, and Bill Lawrence, has earned critical praise for its first two seasons and received nine Emmy nominations, including a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series last year. Shrinking stands out as a particularly strong addition to Apple TV+’s collection of original shows because of its unique ability to combine humor with moving explorations of grief and trauma.

The decision to renew Shrinking for a fourth season aligns with Apple TV+’s successful pattern with other original shows. These series are known for their quick and well-managed production, allowing new seasons to be released relatively quickly. It’s unusual these days for a high-quality show to have a new season out every year, given the lengthy production times and large budgets often involved. Slow Horses is another Apple TV+ show that demonstrates this, with future seasons often filmed or completed before the current one even airs. Hopefully, Shrinking‘s engaging stories will continue to attract viewers and positive reviews, leading to even more seasons.
