Secret Adam Sandler Project Teased By Happy Gilmore 2 & Murder Mystery Director

Adam Sandler is a well-known comedian with a career that has lasted for many years. Now, the director behind films like Happy Gilmore 2 and Murder Mystery has suggested a new, unannounced project featuring Sandler is in the works.

Adam Sandler recently returned to his famous role as Happy Gilmore in the highly anticipated sequel, Happy Gilmore 2, directed by Kyle Newacheck. Newacheck previously directed the 2019 comedy Murder Mystery, which starred Jennifer Aniston and Sandler. Both films performed well on Netflix and established Newacheck as a successful comedy director, strengthening his working relationship with Sandler.

While speaking with Ash Crossan from ScreenRant at the Directors Guild Awards, director Steven Newacheck talked about rumors of a new, unannounced project with Adam Sandler and hinted at a possible future collaboration.

ScreenRant asked if there were any other older movie sequels the interviewer would be interested in revisiting, and if they’d discussed another collaboration with Adam Sandler.

Kyle Newacheck revealed he’s collaborating with Adam Sandler on a new project, though he’s not ready to share details yet. He’s enthusiastic about the partnership, explaining that Sandler’s comedy heavily influenced him growing up. Being on set with Sandler feels surreal, as Newacheck often finds himself reacting to jokes that Sandler ‘taught’ him to find funny.

Adam Sandler recently appeared with George Clooney in the Netflix film Jay Kelly, which critics generally liked, giving it a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. He has two more projects in the works: Roommates and a new movie with the Safdie Brothers, who directed the acclaimed film Uncut Gems in 2019. This upcoming film, also for Netflix, is expected to center around 1990s sports collectibles.

Newacheck is currently working on a couple of projects, Playas Ball and Ice Cold Heat. However, details about the project with Sandler are still scarce. What’s clear is that both Sandler and Newacheck are talented comedians, so audiences can expect a lot of laughs from whatever they create together.
