Scream 7 Rumor Reveals First Trailer Release Date

A trailer for the upcoming horror movie Scream 7 could be released online earlier than planned, according to recent reports. The Scream series is a well-known and influential part of the slasher film genre, starting with the original movie in 1996. The films and TV show have had a significant impact on pop culture, and this new installment is directed by Kevin Williamson, who also wrote the very first Scream movie.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, the first trailer for Scream 7 is expected to be released online on Thursday, October 30th, just before Halloween. Though this hasn’t been officially announced, the timing makes sense considering the horror franchise’s focus on the holiday.

As a huge Scream fan, I’ve been following news about Scream 7 closely! I heard Guy Busick wrote the script, building on a story idea he and James Vanderbilt came up with together. We don’t know much about what actually happens yet, but there’s a lot of buzz online. Some people are saying the movie might start back in Woodsboro – that’s the town where everything originally kicked off in the first few films – and then move the action to a new location called Pine Grove. It’s exciting to think about where they’ll take the story next!

Scream 7 stars Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin. Roger L. Jackson returns as the voice of Ghostface. Joining them are new cast members Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, McKenna Grace, Sam Rechner, and Anna Camp.

Wes Craven, a master of horror, directed the original Scream film based on a screenplay by Kevin Williamson. He went on to direct Scream 2, Scream 3, and Scream 4, released in 1997, 2000, and 2011. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett then directed Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023). In addition to the films, a Scream television series ran on MTV for two seasons (2015-2016) and continued for one more season on VH1 in 2019.

Scream 7 is scheduled to debut in theaters on February 27, 2026.
