The popular Kay Scarpetta book series by Patricia Cornwell began in 1990 with Postmortem. That first novel, along with Cornwell’s 2021 book Autopsy, now forms the basis for the Amazon Prime Video series Scarpetta, which weaves together storylines from different time periods. With 29 novels in the series overall, Amazon has already greenlit a second season, announcing the news before the initial season’s release.

They believe Petersen might be connected to a recent crime.
