Scarlet Witch’s MCU Future & Costume Details Revealed in New Report

Scarlet Witch’s future in the MCU has received an exciting update.

Elizabeth Olsen first appeared as Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, in a brief scene after the credits of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Since then, she’s become a central figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring in several films and the Disney+ series WandaVision, including Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Wanda Maximoff seemingly died in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Despite this, many fans speculate she’ll return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, possibly in upcoming Avengers films like Doomsday or Secret Wars.

What is the latest update on Scarlet Witch’s MCU future?

Insider James Mack reports that a positive and courageous version of Wanda Maximoff will appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday story. This version of Wanda will reside in the X-Men’s universe, specifically on Earth-10005.

Mack described Wanda’s outfit as a long, fitted red dress, matching red gloves, and her recognizable headpiece.

Right now, this is just speculation, and we should consider it as such. Marvel Studios hasn’t revealed much about the plot of Avengers: Doomsday. Even if the rumor is true, it’s unknown whether Elizabeth Olsen will continue to play Wanda, or if another actress will take on the role.

The upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (known as the Russo Brothers), is currently in post-production and slated for release on December 18, 2026. Robert Downey Jr. will play the role of Doctor Doom in the film. Following that, Avengers: Secret Wars is planned to start filming in 2026, with a current release date of December 17, 2027.
