Sam Raimi is a well-known director when it comes to superhero movies. He’s famous for directing the original Spider-Man trilogy and has also directed a major film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I recently read an interview with Sam Raimi, the director of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and he talked about something he wished he’d done differently with the movie. He was discussing working with Rachel McAdams, and he said she was exactly what he needed for the role because she’s such a talented actress.
He explained that he’d worked with her on a previous film and recognized her talent, feeling she hadn’t been given enough to do. Because of this, he was determined to collaborate with her again, and was thrilled when this new movie came along. He especially appreciated her warm personality. The film, Send Help, is now playing in theaters, where she stars with Dylan O’Brien.
Director Sam Raimi explained that the actress hadn’t previously played a truly villainous role, and producer Zainab Azizi pointed out this would really surprise the audience.
Despite earning $955 million worldwide, Marvel Studios hasn’t officially announced a third Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie as of today. Considering the current plans for Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a sequel probably won’t be released until after the conclusion of The Multiverse Saga.
While a third Doctor Strange movie hasn’t been officially announced, Stephen Strange will definitely return to the big screen. Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed to reprise his role in both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Filming for the Secret Wars finale of Phase 6 is scheduled to begin this summer, and the Russo brothers will be directing again.
