Sadie Sink addressed rumors about potentially playing Jean Grey in an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast back in March. She said she hadn’t heard anything about it, but admitted the rumors were exciting. She called Jean Grey a fantastic character and enjoyed seeing the speculation online.

Rumors have been circulating for months about what role Sadie Sink might play in an upcoming Marvel project, with fans suggesting characters like Jean Grey, Mayday Parker, Gwen Stacy, Rachel Cole-Alves, and Mary Jane Watson. Recent reports indicate she could be connected to Tobey Maguire’s version of Peter Parker, possibly as his daughter. Another popular theory is that she’ll be playing a young Jean Grey, before she became a member of the X-Men.

Den of Nerds pointed out that Kang the Conqueror seemingly removed the mutant gene from characters such as Jean Grey. This might be why we haven’t seen the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet.

There’s also speculation that Maya Hawke’s character could have a surprising twist – possibly even being revealed as the movie’s villain. Some fans believe she might be connected to the character Tombstone, potentially playing his daughter, Janice Lincoln, who is also known as The Beetle.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, features Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Florence Pugh may also be in the movie, which is scheduled to come out on July 31, 2026.
