Get ready for a new take on Alice in Wonderland! Sabrina Carpenter, the popular singer, is joining the cast of this upcoming movie musical. And she’s not the only star – this project is packed with talent and promises to be something special.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sabrina Carpenter, known for her song “Espresso,” will star in and help produce a movie adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic story for Universal Pictures. The studio also announced the director and the rest of the production team.
It’s currently unclear exactly what Carpenter’s role is on the project, but it’s said to be something she’s very enthusiastic about. She reportedly first presented the idea to Universal about a year ago, bringing visual concepts and initial ideas. As the project developed, they then found a director to lead it.
Lorene Scafaria, the director known for the hit film Hustlers starring Jennifer Lopez, will be directing this project. I’m really excited to see what she does with another talented musician and actress.
The team making this new Alice in Wonderland movie is incredibly talented. A major highlight is Marc Platt as a producer. He’s well-known for his successful work on Wicked, bringing it to life on stage and now adapting it for the big screen, so his involvement is fantastic news.
Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton from Alloy Entertainment will also produce the film. Alloy is known for popular shows like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, both of which I enjoy, so I’m excited to see what they bring to this new adaptation.
This is shaping up to be an amazing collaboration, and I’m really excited to hear more about Sabrina Carpenter’s new project!
