Ryan Reynolds Posts Hulk Photo & Marvel Fans Know Exactly What He Means

Ryan Reynolds posted a picture online of himself wearing Hulk hands, which many fans believe is a nod to a funny scene from the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie. The post quickly sparked discussion, with some people recognizing the reference and others wondering if it hinted at a potential connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ryan Reynolds shares hilarious call back to Deadpool & Wolverine gag

Ryan Reynolds recently posted a funny photo on Instagram showing him with fake Hulk arms. He kept a straight face and captioned it with the acronym “IYKYK,” which means “If you know, you know.”

Fans quickly realized the post was a funny reference to a scene in Deadpool & Wolverine. In the scene, Wade Wilson (Deadpool) jokingly tells Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) during an Avengers interview that he knows Hogan was caught engaging in a crude act – using toy Hulk hands to simulate something inappropriate – in the lobby of Stark Tower. A bewildered Hogan asks for clarification, and Wilson provides a graphic description, visibly shocking and embarrassing Hogan.

Some fans thought this was a subtle hint that Hulk and Deadpool might team up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This idea gained traction after Hulk appeared briefly in the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, where he was shown fighting a different version of Wolverine.

In a memorable scene from Free Guy, Ryan Reynolds’ character briefly manifested a Hulk-like arm and Captain America’s shield during a fight with a duplicate of himself. However, this isn’t a hint about a sequel to Free Guy or a potential Hulk vs. Deadpool movie.

He might also be celebrating Wrexham AFC’s 2-0 victory over Swansea City, which happened on March 13, 2026.

Ryan Reynolds may have a surprising new direction for the next Deadpool movie. This comes after T.J. Miller, who played Weasel in the first two films, hinted that Reynolds shared a “really good” idea with him. Miller told 101Wrif that the idea was so clever it gave him goosebumps, and he didn’t think it was possible to create something even more unique than the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine.

Miller went on to commend Ryan Reynolds, describing him as a major force in developing the humor for Deadpool.
