Ryan Kiera Armstrong Unveils First-Look Image at Buffy the Vampire Slayer Revival

The latest installment in the revived series recently revealed its first glimpse, but sadly, this happened after the show was cancelled before it could even begin.

Ryan Kiera Armstrong will star in the reboot of the popular fantasy horror show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale. Sarah Michelle Gellar announced the news on social media on March 14th, and that same day, Armstrong shared what her character, Nova, will look like.

She shared a Polaroid photo of herself in costume, captioning the post, “đŸ–€ your slayer.”

Ryan Kiera Armstrong Reacted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale’s Cancellation

Armstrong began a video on her Instagram Story, saying, “I’m sure many of you have already heard the news” about the show not being revived.

Look, I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for all the support you’ve shown me and the show these past few months. It’s been a truly special experience, and I’m incredibly proud of the work we did. It’s a real shame more people won’t get to see it, but that doesn’t diminish how amazing this whole journey has been for me.

I want to thank Sarah, the Zuckerman sisters, and ChloĂ© – I love you all. I’m also incredibly grateful to all the fans and everyone who supported this new direction and believed in me. And thank you to the amazing cast I had the pleasure of working with.

We wanted to share this with you all because Buffy means so much to us, and it’s a show we all still love. We’re excited to see what happens next,” the new lead actress said.

The cast included Richard Armstrong, Ava Jean as Larkin, Sarah Bock as Gracie, Daniel Di Tomasso as Abe, Jack Cutmore-Scott as Mr. Burke, and Kingston Vernes as Carson. Chase Sui Wonders, Merrin Dungey, Audrey Hsieh, and Audrey Grace Marshall were scheduled to make guest appearances. Sarah Michelle Gellar returned as Buffy Summers, but it wasn’t yet clear if other original characters would also be appearing.

Fans Are Asking Hulu to Reconsider the Buffy Revival

Hulu hasn’t officially commented on the removal of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but fans are passionately protesting the decision online. Recent posts on Hulu’s social media are filled with comments demanding they reconsider, with many users simply saying, “We want Buffy!” The cancellation has clearly upset a lot of viewers.

Several other streaming services, like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and HBO Max, expressed interest in the show. But since 20th Century Studios owns the rights, it might be difficult for it to end up on another platform.
