As we draw nearer to wrapping up the 2025 movie lineup, there are several films in progress set for release past this year that fans can eagerly anticipate. One such high-profile contender is the forthcoming “Avengers: Doomsday,” where a fresh iteration of the celebrated superhero team unite to confront Robert Downey Jr.’s return as Doctor Doom. Lately, whispers have suggested a conflict between Downey and fellow MCU star Ryan Reynolds regarding the film, but a trusted source has now clarified why such a rift appears highly implausible.
What Are The Rumors About Robert Downey, Jr. And Ryan Reynolds, And What Did An Insider Say?
Despite having previously seen Marvel movies without an overwhelming number of big-name actors, the upcoming film, “Avengers: Doomsday,” stands out as it boasts a star-studded cast including Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, and Robert Downey Jr., who has appeared in multiple Marvel films. Moreover, this movie marks the debut of X-Men stars like James Marsden and Patrick Stewart within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
It’s been reported that there were disagreements between the actor of Iron Man and Ryan Reynolds during filming. However, rumors about Downey Jr.’s requested reshoots and a misfired joke causing tension on set may not be true, according to a source who spoke to People.
The two have never met in person.
Is there any other way we could refute the gossip about two celebrities having a disagreement? The report also mentioned that there is no animosity whatsoever between the superhero actors, who, as far as I know, have never actually met in person. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that one of the reasons these rumors might be false is because Reynolds isn’t included in the official cast list for the film.
It’s understandable that confusion might arise since the March cast reveal for the new Avengers film was an extended five-hour live stream. Despite listing 24 names, many notable Marvel stars like Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, and Don Cheadle were unexpectedly omitted from the announcement.
Although it seems that the rumors of a conflict between Reynolds and Downey are not substantiated, this doesn’t rule out the possibility of Deadpool and Doctor Doom sharing the screen someday. In fact, there’s a strong potential for them to collaborate in a future Marvel film. Keep in mind that when it comes to Marvel productions, secrecy is legendary. Just because an actor isn’t listed as part of the main cast doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t make an appearance. So, we can only wait and see what unfolds in the future.
