With the comic book series nearing its end, the animated TV show is becoming incredibly popular. It’s currently the most-watched show on streaming services worldwide.
According to FlixPatrol, Rick and Morty is currently a top 10 show on Netflix in over 30 countries, averaging a rank of 6.5. This increase in viewers comes after the finale of Season 8, which aired from May to July of last year. The show’s success continues with the release of Rick and Morty: The End #1 in December 2025. Good news for fans – Rick and Morty has already been renewed through Season 10, meaning more episodes are on the way!
As a huge Rick and Morty fan, I was really surprised to hear about Rick and Morty: The End! It’s a six-issue comic series from Oni Press that was actually intended to wrap up the comic book adventures for Rick and Morty. They started hinting at it last year, and Oni Press said it wasn’t some fancy symbolism – after over 100 issues and a decade, this series was really meant to be the end! It’s being written by Daniel Kibblesmith, who did Loki, and the art is by Jarrett Williams, known for Speed Force. They promised something big!
The first issue of Rick and Morty: The End was released on December 3, 2025. According to the publisher, Oni Press, the story features Rick Sanchez as a fugitive with a massive bounty on his head. Everyone – from governments and pirates to religious groups and even endangered species – is trying to capture him, dead or alive.
Only Morty Smith truly understands Rick and can reach him on a personal level. However, he’s not the only member of his family trying to find Rick – ‘Space Beth’ is also on the hunt, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes. Now, it’s a race to see who finds Rick first!
Rick and Morty Comics Promise a ‘Cataclysmic Finale’
For ten years, these comics have expanded on the world of the TV series by using the idea of alternate realities. This allows them to tell new stories and explore what happens after episodes, or reference events from the show, without changing the established storyline. They often add their own unique spin to the familiar universe.
With the comic book series nearing its conclusion, Oni Press has announced a new chapter titled “The End.” According to a press release, this installment will continue the innovative take on Rick and Morty by Kibblesmith and Williams, and lead to a massive, unprecedented finale that will impact all dimensions.
Rick and Morty is now streaming on Netflix. Rick and Morty: The End #1 is now on sale from Oni Press.
