Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come Losing Box Office Battle Against Bollywood Sequel

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is facing an even bloodier mess in a battle at the box office.

The horror sequel, Ready or Not 2, features a talented cast including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Samara Weaving, and Kathryn Newton. The story follows Grace (Weaving), who once again finds herself fighting for her life after the terrifying events of the first film. This time, a new family is targeting both her and her sister, Faith (Newton), whom she’s been estranged from.

According to Deadline, the horror sequel Ready or Not 2 is currently underperforming at the box office, losing to the Bollywood film Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Dhurandhar has earned $10.5 million, surpassing Ready or Not 2‘s $9 million. Meanwhile, Project Hail Mary is proving to be a bigger draw for audiences, while Ready or Not 2 struggles to gain traction.

I was a big fan of ‘Dhurandhar-1’, but ‘The Revenge’ is even better – it’s much grander and more emotionally impactful. Everything about it – the writing, acting, technical aspects, music, world-building, and direction – is perfect. What truly makes it special are the high emotional stakes. @adityadharfilms, you’ve created something amazing! It’s incredibly brave to release a four-hour film, and it completely holds the audience’s attention. Both Hamza and Jaskirat were captivating, and @actormaddy garu brilliantly portrayed the desperation and frustration of an entire nation, making us feel deeply invested in his success. Congratulations to everyone involved on this huge achievement!

The disappointing box office debut of Ready or Not 2 came as a surprise, especially considering its release timing, the reputation of directors Radio Silence, and Disney’s promotion of the film at SXSW. While all signs pointed to success, initial reviews suggest the movie itself is the weak link. Despite a fairly positive 76% score on Rotten Tomatoes, ScreenRant‘s Gregory Nussen summed it up perfectly: comparing the first film to a complex chess match, he described the sequel as a simple game of tic-tac-toe.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is available to watch in theaters now.
