The show has rapidly become a hit on Prime Video. Though series like Countdown and Butterfly tried to maintain viewership over the summer after Season 3 finished in late March, neither gained as much popularity as the action series starring Alan Ritchson.
Fans of Reacher will be happy to hear that Season 4 is nearly finished! Alan Ritchson, who stars in the show, has hinted that it’s the best season so far and recently confirmed that filming is almost complete. We can likely expect the new season to be released in early 2026.
Filming for Season 4 began in mid-June, a few months after Season 3 ended. The actor has been busy shooting, and recently shared that they only have “one week left” of filming.
The actor shared that he’s been working constantly for the last two and a half years. He explained that finishing Season 4 of Reacher in mid-November will finally give him a much-needed break – the first time he’s had one in that entire period.
We don’t have an official release date for Reacher Season 4 yet, but it will probably premiere next year, similar to Seasons 2 and 3. Season 1 was filmed quickly – from April to July 2021 – and was released on February 4, 2022.
Filming for Season 2 began in September 2022 and finished in March 2023, with the season premiering in December of that year. After a break in 2024, work on Season 3 started in July 2023 and concluded in November 2023. It took just over a year to finish the post-production work, and Season 3 finally launched on February 20, 2025.
Although Reacher is expected to return to Prime Video around 2026, Alan Ritchson’s recent comments about needing time off create some uncertainty for Season 5. Ritchson has been heavily committed to the show, but he’s also been busy filming a new Prime Video comedy and the action-comedy The Man with the Bag alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, plus other projects.
Alan Ritchson Doubled Down on His Faith in Reacher Season 4
Ritchson described working on the show as a challenging experience. He compared the feeling to how presidents look after their time in office – worn out and aged. He said each season of Reacher feels like it takes ten years off his life, so finishing a season feels like a huge relief and a fresh start.
Honestly, I was really surprised to hear Alan Ritchson say he was actually panicked after Season 3! He felt like they nailed it for us fans and was worried about living up to that. But the showrunner knew they couldn’t just repeat themselves – they needed to do something fresh and different. Alan seems super confident about the new season though, and he’s even saying it’s the best one yet – by far! I’m seriously hyped to see what they’ve come up with.
Reacher Seasons 1 to 3 are streaming on Prime Video.
