Raúl Castillo is joining Season 3 of *The Walking Dead: Dead City* as a main character named Luis. AMC hasn’t revealed any details about Luis or how he’ll interact with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). This casting news follows the announcement about three weeks ago. Additionally, has been cast as Renata, a charismatic and optimistic leader who easily attracts followers.

Eli Jorné’s *Dead City* stars popular characters Maggie and Negan on a dangerous journey into a long-isolated, post-apocalyptic Manhattan. The recently finished second season sees them caught on opposing sides of a fierce battle for the city’s control. As their stories connect, Maggie and Negan discover that escaping Manhattan—and surviving—will be far more difficult than they anticipated.

Production for season three of *Dead City* started in Boston, Massachusetts in September 2025, with Seth Hoffman leading the creative team. This series is one of two *Walking Dead* shows currently being made for AMC; the other is *Daryl Dixon*. *Daryl Dixon* is currently airing its third and final season, which will have eight episodes and wrap up the story of Norman Reedus’ character. Although not officially announced, both *Dead City* and *Daryl Dixon* are expected to return to AMC in 2026, as they are both already filming new seasons.

Actor Raúl Castillo is currently starring in the HBO limited series *Task*, where he plays Cliff Broward, who teams up with his friend and colleague Robbie Prendergrast (Tom Pelphrey) to rob drug dealers in Philadelphia. They’re being hunted by FBI agent Tom Brandis, played by Mark Ruffalo. However, Castillo is widely recognized for his role as Richie Donado Ventura in the HBO series *Looking* and its concluding film, *Looking: The Movie*.
