Prime Video’s series House of David, which premiered earlier this year, has been performing well and gaining popularity as it approaches its final episode. The show is a biblical drama recounting the story of David and his famous fight with Goliath, which played out in the season one finale.
The biblical drama House of David has quickly become popular on Prime Video, reaching the Top 10 chart at number nine with its season two finale just days away.
Currently, the top-ranked movies and shows are Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy, Maxton Hall, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Harlan Coben’s Lazarus, King & Conqueror, Wicked, Red One, and Hazbin Hotel. House of David is ninth, and Hedda completes the Top 10.
As the holidays get closer, popular movies like How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Red One are becoming popular on streaming services again. Plus, the new movie Wicked: For Good is coming to theaters very soon, and everyone is excited!
Interest in House of David is growing as the season 2 finale approaches. The show has a 71% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences love it even more, giving it an 87% score. Everyone’s eager to see how creator Jon Erwin wraps up the story.

It’s particularly noteworthy that House of David is doing so well on streaming charts because, while the first season is included with an Amazon Prime Video subscription, you need a separate, $8.99-per-month subscription to Wonder Project to watch the current season—on top of your Prime Video membership.
The cast of House of David features Michael Iskander, Ali Suliman, Indy Lewis, Ethan Kai, Oded Fehr, Yali Topol Margalith, Davood Ghadami, Ayelet Zurer, Aury Alby, and Stephen Lang. Although the series is based on a biblical story, Stephen Lang has said that House of David has a broader appeal than many other faith-based productions.
Since the hit HBO show Game of Thrones finished in 2019, many streaming services have tried to create their own successful fantasy series. Amazon’s Prime Video has launched several, including Wheel of Time (which was cancelled after three seasons), The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (currently filming its third season), and a new show called House of David.
As fans await the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Prime Video, House of David is captivating audiences with its compelling and dramatic story, and its popularity continues to increase each week as the season finale approaches.
The final episode of House of David season 2 will be available on Wonder Project on Prime Video starting Sunday, November 16th.
