Early reactions to the new movie, Predator: Badlands, are coming in, and they suggest whether or not the film has a scene after the credits and if it ties into the story of Predator: Killer of Killers.
Does Predator: Badlands have a post-credits scene?
Don’t expect any connections to previous films if you’re hoping for a sequel hinted at in Badlands. Early viewers report the movie doesn’t have a mid-credits or post-credits scene, meaning it appears to be a self-contained story with no immediate ties to the ‘Killer of Killers’ storyline – at least for now.
After the movie Killer of Killers ended in 2025, fans started hoping for a possible connection to the Prey universe. The film’s post-credits scene showed that Naru, the Comanche warrior from the 2022 film Prey (played by Amber Midthunder), and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character Dutch, had both been captured and put into cryogenic freeze by the Yaujta—the alien race commonly known as Predators.
Fans were expecting to see these characters in Badlands, or at least mentioned in the film, but it doesn’t look like that will happen in this movie.
In Badlands, Elle Fanning plays Thia, a human-like robot built by the Weyland-Yutani corporation. Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi stars as Dek, a character inspired by strong, independent heroes like Conan the Barbarian and Mad Max.
Dan Trachtenberg directed and produced ‘Predator: Badlands,’ also co-writing the script with Patrick Aison. The film is based on characters originally created by Jim and John Thomas. This is Trachtenberg’s third ‘Predator’ film, following the 2022 prequel ‘Prey’ and the animated Disney+ movie ‘Killers of Killers.’ John Davis, Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt, and Brent O’Connor also produced the movie. Notably, ‘Badlands’ has received a PG-13 rating, a first for a main ‘Predator’ film.
The new film, Badlands, is set on a dangerous, faraway planet. It centers on a young Predator who’s been cast out from his group (played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) and forms an unexpected partnership with Thia (Elle Fanning, known for her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations). Together, they face a difficult and risky quest to find a powerful enemy.
Predator: Badlands will be released on November 7, 2025.
