Post-Apocalypse Prime Video TV Show Out Today With Glowing Reviews

A popular Prime Video series has returned, and critics are already praising its latest season.

What show is out now on Prime Video?

The second season of Fallout unexpectedly arrived on Prime Video today, a day ahead of schedule. This new installment takes the story to New Vegas, a beloved location for fans of the Fallout series.

Fallout Season 2 is receiving rave reviews, matching the high expectations from fans. Critics have given it a 98% rating, which is even better than the 93% score the first season earned.

Despite a slightly uneven start, TheWrap’s William Goodman enjoyed the show’s second season, finding it particularly strong towards the end. Variety’s Aramide Tinubu noted that while Season 2 isn’t quite as polished as the first, it remains highly engaging and will keep audiences hooked.

I’ve been reading reviews, and a lot of people seem to agree this season is even better than the first! Kelly Lawler from USA Today highlighted how the show still really stands out with its striking visuals and emotionally complex characters. And James Mottram at NME said it’s both grander in scale and explores things on a deeper level this time around.

The first season of Fallout featured Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul, and a supporting cast including Aaron Moten as Maximus, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean, Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean, and Xelia Mendes-Jones as Dane.

As a huge fan, I was completely blown away by the first season of this show! Everyone – critics and viewers like me – was raving about it. It really made a splash with the awards too, racking up a whopping 17 Primetime Emmy nominations for its debut season. They even nominated it for the big ones – Outstanding Drama Series and a nod to Walton Goggins for Outstanding Lead Actor, which he absolutely deserved!

Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet created the Fallout TV series and also lead it as showrunners.

Fallout, inspired by the beloved video game series, explores the divide between those who have everything and those who have nothing in a post-apocalyptic world. Two centuries after a devastating event, the comfortable residents of underground shelters are forced to venture back to the dangerous, radioactive wasteland their ancestors fled. They quickly discover a strange, surprisingly complex, and often violent world waiting for them.
