Popular Korean Zombie Movie Sets Peacock Streaming Date

The popular 2016 South Korean zombie film, Train to Busan, is coming to Peacock next month. The movie, a collaboration between Next Entertainment World and RedPeter Film, originally premiered at Cannes in May 2016 and quickly became a hit in South Korean cinemas on July 20th. It was reportedly the first Korean film to surpass 10 million viewers in theaters.

Train to Busan arrives on Peacock in February

Starting February 11, 2026, you’ll be able to watch the popular movie Train to Busan on Peacock. That same day, Peacock will also begin streaming Asteroid City, the latest film by director Wes Anderson.

The movie earned approximately $98.5 million worldwide on a budget of just $8.5 million. It proved so popular that it launched a franchise, which now includes the animated film Seoul Station and the sequel Peninsula. The franchise is growing further with another new film on the way, as well as an American remake titled The Last Train to New York.

Train to Busan has been very well-received by critics and audiences. It boasts a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and an 89% audience score. Metacritic gives the film a score of 73, indicating ‘generally favorable’ reviews, along with a user score of 8.0 out of 10.

The movie unfolds on a high-speed train journey from Seoul to Busan. Passengers are suddenly thrown into a terrifying zombie outbreak when an infected person bites a train attendant, quickly spreading the virus. As panic erupts, a small group – including a father and his daughter – struggles to survive, facing danger not only from the zombies but also from the selfishness and deceit of their fellow passengers.

Yeon Sang-ho directed the movie, based on a script by Park Joo-suk. Lee Dong-ha was the producer.

I was so impressed with the actors in Train to Busan! You’ve got Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi, and the amazing Ma Dong-seok, plus Kim Su-an, Kim Eui-sung, Choi Woo-sik, Sohee, Ye Soo-jung, Park Myung-shin, and a lot of other talented people. The whole cast really brought the movie to life.
