This popular franchise first appeared in 1996 and became a cultural icon of the late 90s. Now, to honor its long history, a special pair of sneakers is being released to celebrate the 150th Pokémon.
Adidas and Pokémon have teamed up for a new shoe collection, and the first release is inspired by the powerful Pokémon, Mewtwo. The shoes incorporate designs from the Pokémon world, creating a striking and impressive look that reflects Mewtwo’s Psychic-type abilities. They’re set to launch just in time for a big celebration of the Pokémon franchise, offering fans a fantastic way to show their love for the series.
Stylish New Pokémon x Adidas Shoes Feature the Psychic Might of Mewtwo

The new Pokémon x Adidas ZX 8000 shoe is inspired by Mewtwo, the 150th Pokémon. It’s mostly white and lavender, with pink accents that nod to Mew, Mewtwo’s ancestor. You’ll also find small images of Mew engraved on the sides of the shoe, highlighting the connection between the two Pokémon.
These shoes feature the Pokémon logo and designs inspired by Mewtwo. You’ll find small images of Mewtwo’s face on the front, his name on the side, and his purple eyes along the sides. The backs of the shoes have cutouts shaped like Mewtwo’s ears. A Master Ball, a key item from the Pokémon video games used to catch Pokémon like Mewtwo, is also prominently displayed on the front.
Though some might see it as a flashy detail, the gold lining inside these shoes makes them highly collectible and a truly luxurious way for fans to express their style.
Adidas is releasing a new Pokémon-themed shoe, the ZX 8000 “Mewtwo,” marking the first collaboration since 2020. The release is planned for September 2026, which is also the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, first launched in 1996. With Mewtwo consistently ranking as one of the most beloved Pokémon characters, it’s a fitting choice for this special release.
We don’t know the price yet, but fans of Mewtwo and the original Pokémon games will likely be eager to buy these shoes when they release this fall.
