Pokémon Colosseum Teaser Leaves Gamers Baffled

2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for Pokémon, marking 30 years since the franchise began and with the announcement of the new Winds and Waves games (Generation 10). Fans have already enjoyed the release of FireRed and LeafGreen on Nintendo Switch, and more classic games like Pokémon Colosseum from the GameCube are coming to Nintendo Switch Online. However, a recent teaser left many fans puzzled.

To celebrate the release of Pokémon Colosseum, the official Pokémon account shared a nostalgic video on X (formerly Twitter). The video shows gameplay on an old box TV, with a poster from Pokémon: The Movie 3 visible in the background, and features the game’s classic music. The post commemorated the game’s original release date on the Nintendo GameCube in 2004.

Pokémon Colosseum Fans Are Baffled By This New Tease

Fans are confused about why Pokémon didn’t release a classic game on Nintendo Switch Online to celebrate its anniversary, especially since a release is planned for later this year. One user on X expressed this confusion, questioning why Gale of Darkness was released before Pokémon Colosseum, given that it was Colosseum‘s anniversary month.

People responded with a mix of confusion, frustration, and repeated requests for the game Pokémon Colosseum to be added to the Nintendo Switch Online service. Many users expressed their impatience, with comments like “Now put it on NSO,” “So where is it?”, and “Why isn’t it on NSO yet?”

Pokémon XD: Gale Of Darkness Recently Joined NSO

It’s a bit strange that Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness was just added to Nintendo Switch Online, especially since it was originally planned for a March 2026 release. It probably would have been more logical to add Pokémon Colosseum first, considering its anniversary was only a few days after the initial announcement.

Both of these Pokémon side games are good, and Gale of Darkness is definitely worth playing. Since it first came out in Japan in August 2005, it’s possible Pokémon Colosseum will be added to Nintendo Switch Online around the same time. Nintendo might just be switching things up! For now, it’s just a fun guess, and we’ll have to wait for an official release date or even a general timeframe. Hopefully, we’ll get more news about Pokémon soon.
