PlayStation 5 Leak Spells Bad News For Marvel’s Wolverine

Recent information suggests Sony might not release Marvel’s Wolverine on PlayStation 4, which would be disappointing for players who still use that console.

Sony has recently started releasing some of its popular PlayStation games on PC, such as God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. These games typically come to PC after being available on PlayStation consoles for a while, giving PlayStation players early access.

PlayStation Is Reportedly Moving Away From PC Releases

Sony appears to be moving away from releasing games on PC. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reports that Sony will no longer be bringing its major exclusive titles to PC, and has cancelled plans to port the game formerly known as Ghost of Yotei. They will still release PC versions of games that have already been announced for the platform, such as Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

If the recent reports are true, Sony will only be releasing its single-player games exclusively on PlayStation. They plan to continue making their multiplayer games, including the new Marathon game, available on multiple platforms to reach the largest number of players.

While many new PlayStation 5 games will eventually be available on PC, Sony appears to be shifting its approach, which could affect PC gamers. PC players have enjoyed a lot of Sony titles this generation, but it seems that may be changing soon, even before the release of Marvel’s Wolverine.

Marvel’s Wolverine Might Skip PC and Be a PlayStation Exclusive

If the recent buzz is true, Marvel’s Wolverine might be available only on PlayStation 5 for quite some time.

It’s disappointing that players on PC may not get to experience Marvel’s Wolverine, especially since it looks like it will be a major game release this year. It’s also a shame for the modding community, as there’s a lot of potential to create custom X-Men costumes for the character Logan.

Even if the game remains exclusive to PlayStation 5 for a while, PC players might still be able to play Marvel’s Wolverine if it’s added to the PlayStation Premium streaming service. To do so, they’d need a DualSense controller, a digital copy of the game, and an active PlayStation Premium subscription.

This could end up being too much for gamers to buy, particularly with the rising cost of games. If PlayStation continues this approach, many players will either miss out on playing the new Wolverine game or have to spend a significant amount of money on a PS5.
