Patrick J. Adams Mike Ross Return After Suits LA Cancellation

Patrick J. Adams, who became famous playing Mike Ross in the popular TV show Suits, has talked about whether he might return to the role now that Suits LA has been cancelled.

The show Suits centers around Mike, who unexpectedly lands a job at the prestigious law firm Pearson Hardman after a chance encounter with Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). Mike stumbled into Harvey’s office while escaping a failed drug deal, and Harvey mistakenly thought he was an applicant. Despite not having gone to law school, Harvey was impressed and hired him—though Mike later passed the bar exam during the series.

Despite playing the main character in the original Suits series, Mike Ross never made an appearance in the Suits LA spinoff. In an interview with Liam Crowley of The Madison, actor Adams explained that he wasn’t even asked to be on the short-lived show, primarily because of his busy schedule. He simply stated, “I was too busy with other commitments.”

The cancellation of Suits LA meant he likely wouldn’t get to reprise his role in a spin-off series. However, the actor hasn’t ruled out returning to the character. He noted that while there aren’t any plans for new Suits shows right now, the franchise isn’t over for good. Although he feels his character’s story has finished, he’d definitely consider playing the role again if the opportunity arose.

He shared that he’s close friends with Aaron Korsh, the creator of Suits, and incredibly proud of the show’s world and characters. He also expressed his affection for his character, Mike, and is thankful for how the role helped launch his successful career.

We definitely told the story we set out to tell with Suits, but I’m close with Aaron Korsh, the show’s creator, and I have a lot of affection for that world and the characters we built. I’d always consider revisiting it if the opportunity felt right. It seems like we might be taking a break after Suits LA, though. I really love playing Mike Ross – that role and the show completely changed my life for the better.

Patrick Adams is well-known for his role in Suits, but he’s also been in other popular shows like Wayward and A League of Their Own. He’s next appearing in The Madison, a new series from Taylor Sheridan. This drama centers on a family who relocates to Montana’s Madison River valley following a difficult event. Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell also star, playing Stacy and Preston Clyburn, respectively.

The Madison will premiere on March 14, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+.
