There Was a 7-Season Plan for Mayor of Kingstown
Earlier this year, news emerged that Mayor of Kingstown will finish after its fifth season. This came as a shock to many viewers, especially since Hugh Dillon, one of the show’s creators, had previously discussed plans for it to run for at least seven seasons. Although the show was originally intended to be longer, knowing in advance that Season 5 would be the last gives the writers the opportunity to create a satisfying conclusion, even if it’s happening earlier than planned.
According to Dillon, the show’s creator, Sheridan, has already planned out an ending for the series, intended for Season 7. While it’s uncertain if they’ll reach that point, everyone involved is aware of the planned conclusion. Sheridan originally conceived this ending 15 years ago, outlining a storyline where Mitch would die early on and the series would culminate with a specific event in Season 7, episode 10, involving the character Mike.
Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon created Mayor of Kingstown and also act as executive producers. They are joined by Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, Michael Slovis, Regina Corrado, and Keith Cox. Dave Erickson is also the showrunner for the series.
The first four seasons of Mayor of Kingstown are . Season 5 does not yet have a premiere date.
