Hulu’s Paradise quickly became the show everyone was talking about, sparking tons of theories and speculation with each new episode. Now, it’s coming back for a second season, and a new trailer suggests we’ll have even more mysteries to unravel. The trailer shows Xavier (Sterling K. Brown) venturing out from his community to find his wife, and also introduces both familiar and new faces. Season 2 of Paradise premieres on Hulu on February 23rd with the first three episodes.
Hulu released the all-new trailer this weekend, which you can watch below.
Season 2 of Paradise is described:
Xavier ventures out to find Teri and discovers how people have been living for the past three years after the catastrophic event known as ‘The Day’. Meanwhile, tensions rise within the supposedly safe haven of Paradise as the residents grapple with the consequences of the previous season, and the truth about the city’s history begins to emerge.
The second season will feature a talented cast including Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans. James Marsden, Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, and Jon Beavers will also appear in recurring roles.
The Surprise Success of ‘Paradise’

Hulu
Dan Fogelman first gained widespread recognition with the popular show This Is Us, which was both critically acclaimed and a ratings success for ABC. Despite being a fairly simple drama, Fogelman skillfully created suspense around the character Jack’s death by carefully revealing clues over time. He’s also a producer on Only Murders in the Building, a highly praised and popular mystery series for Hulu that consistently attracts viewers and positive reviews.
I remember being completely hooked by the first episode of Paradise. It started with this fascinating mystery – Xavier trying to solve the President’s murder – and I was immediately invested. But then, the show threw this incredible twist at us: the whole story was taking place in a massive, artificial town, a hidden community built as a safe haven after something terrible happened to the country. It was such a clever setup and really grabbed my attention!
Similar to the show This Is Us, Paradise told its story by jumping between the present and the past. The first season ended with a shocking reveal: the person who built the bunker also killed the president. He had previously tried to warn everyone that the construction crew was being poisoned, but his warnings were ignored. The people who sheltered in the bunker survived a massive volcanic eruption and its fallout, and everyone outside was presumed dead. However, Xavier discovers his wife, Teri, may have survived, and he sets out on a dangerous journey to find her.
Dan Fogelman had once suggested the show was planned for three seasons, but it’s unclear if that’s still the case.
