The movie Superman not only launched Christopher Reeve’s career – he quickly won over audiences as the iconic hero and set the standard for future actors in the role – but it also paved the way for the successful comic book films we enjoy today. While groundbreaking for its time, revisiting the classic Superman reveals some noticeable flaws.

As a huge 30 Rock fan, I always loved when the show did a Christmas episode! It was so funny watching Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy struggle through the holidays – relatable, especially if you come from a slightly chaotic family like mine. They skipped Christmas episodes in the first and sixth seasons for some reason, which was a bummer, but thankfully, most seasons gave us a festive treat. I’m excited to revisit every 30 Rock Christmas episode, starting from the very beginning!

Re-watching Cronos recently, it struck me how clearly it showed what Guillermo del Toro would become obsessed with throughout his career: how delicate life is, the struggles of change, and the line between living and dying. The film really builds its emotional impact through quiet, personal scenes, and it feels like a preview of everything he’d do with The Devil’s Backbone, Pan’s Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, The Shape of Water, and even his upcoming Frankenstein. With that new film on the horizon, it feels like the perfect time to revisit Cronos – it’s a fantastic movie that deserves to be talked about just as much as his more famous, beautifully gothic works.

The entire Back to the Future trilogy—including the original from 1985, Back to the Future Part II from 1989, and Back to the Future Part III from 1990—became available on Netflix on November 1st, but will be removed on December 1st.
