Ryan Reynolds and Amy Sherman-Palladino are creating a live-action Eloise movie for Netflix, inspired by the classic book series from the 1950s by Kay Thompson and Hilary Knight. Reynolds will produce the film through his production company, Maximum Effort, alongside MRC, and will also star as a new villain. Mae Schenk will play Eloise. The movie won’t be a direct adaptation of any specific book, but rather a completely original story, with Sherman-Palladino writing the screenplay alongside Hannah Marks and Linda Woolverton. Filming is scheduled to begin later this month.

The 2003 science fiction horror film, Dreamcatcher, was directed by Lawrence Kasdan and written by William Goldman – a promising combination of talent. However, despite this, the movie was a box office failure. Costing $68 million to produce, it only earned $75 million, and was largely disliked by both critics and audiences. Even renowned critic Roger Ebert strongly disapproved, stating in his review:

Things are incredibly strange – the world is literally falling apart, but surprisingly, most people don’t seem to notice or care. The exception is Carol Sturka, a mysterious new character who’s deeply disturbed by it all. While planes crash and cars collide around her, overly friendly people keep asking if she’s alright, but she’s too frightened to respond.

According to Deadline, Thomasin McKenzie—who starred in Late Night in Soho and Jojo Rabbit—will play Audrey Hepburn in the upcoming biopic, Dinner With Audrey. Ansel Elgort will co-star as fashion designer Count Hubert de Givenchy, and Michael Shannon is being considered for a role in the film.

After Zack Snyder left DC, the franchise was restarted with James Gunn leading a new DC Universe. Despite this, fans haven’t stopped hoping Netflix will acquire the Snyderverse. Recent news that Netflix was considering buying Warner Bros. Discovery, the company that owns DC Studios, has given that hope a boost and intensified the campaign for a Snyderverse revival.

Director Dan Trachtenberg recently shared with ScreenTime/Dexterto that he thought about including Amber Midthunder, who played Naru in the successful film Prey, in the new Predator movie, Badlands. Naru, the protagonist of Prey, famously survived an encounter with a Predator in 1719 on the Great Plains. The idea was considered before the film’s release on November 7th.
