Katie Dippold, the writer behind Parks and Recreation, has created a new series called Widow’s Bay. Hiro Muray, an Emmy Award-winning director known for his work on The Bear and Mr. & Mrs. Smith, is directing. Apple TV+ announced the show will premiere on April 29, 2026, over a year after it was first revealed in September 2024.

The film, set in 2057, follows a crew of astronauts on a desperate mission to save Earth from an ice age by reigniting the dying Sun with a powerful bomb. While written by Danny Boyle, this critically-minded film remains relatively unknown, possibly because it didn’t perform well in theaters – earning just $34 million despite a $40 million budget. However, 18 years later, Sutter appreciates the film’s merits.

Disney is reportedly working on a live-action remake of Frozen, according to industry source MyTimetoShineHello. They shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating a live-action movie is now in development. However, Disney hasn’t confirmed these plans publicly.
